ABOUT

The Happy Hive is an inclusive indoor play space designed for kids of all abilities to explore, imagine, and grow.

Inspired by our son Nate, who is autistic, we built The Happy Hive to be the kind of place we wish had existed when he was little — a safe, welcoming environment where every child can thrive exactly as they are.

Our space features a variety of engaging activities, sensory-friendly equipment, and creative play areas that encourage movement, social interaction, and confidence-building. We believe in fostering a sense of BEElonging for the whole community, offering a judgment-free environment where parents can relax and children can simply be themselves.

As a speech-language pathologist and former elementary school teacher, Erika brings years of experience working with autistic and neurodivergent children, while Chris ensures the Hive runs smoothly behind the scenes. Together, we’re committed to creating a space where play is for everybody — because inclusion isn’t just part of what we do, it’s at the heart of who we are.

CHILD SAFETY

The Happy Hive is a safe place where everybody BEElongs. Children and caregivers alike deserve to feel welcome and free to be themselves.

At The Happy Hive, we strive to keep kids physically safe by ensuring all equipment is checked daily for wear and tear and maintained to provide the best operation.

By requiring non-slip socks of all kids, we also limit slips and falls.

Daily disinfecting of each play zone includes all hard surfaces, individual toys and equipment, and the floors. We also end each day with a fine mist sanitation spray of all times in the gym.

Two high performance air filters run 24/7 to eliminate pollutants and allergens in the air, as well.

Door alarms on all exterior doors ensure that no child will leave the building without alert. We also have childproofing mechanisms to prevent kids from reaching any exterior doors.

We believe that the comfort of knowing your child is safe is important and allows caregivers to truly enjoy their time in the gym, as well.
